When you meet Sarah Baker, you get the sense that she’s lived a few lives.

Bass player in a punk rock band? Check. Creator of an Instagram for her cat? Yep. Analog-map lover and person who’s been lost in Death Valley and lived to tell the tale? Indeed. She’s even interned for eBay, a host of nonprofits and worked at one of Austin’s top PR firms. She’s got a thing or two going on, that’s for sure. And those things are cool, no doubt, but Sarah’s most proud of her ability to get in other people’s faces. With a camera.

As a photographer, she loves capturing what’s special about others. Not shy, but also not a HEY-LOOK-AT-ME attention hog, she prides herself on being able to easily connect with others and help them feel comfortable in their own skin—a quality that’s made her fall in love with portraits and one that’s led her to cause-driven communications as a dream career.

An adventure junkie, she knew she had met her match in the Black Sheep Agency when she became the most frequently ran into not-so-stranger in the company’s history. We’d see her smiling face at almost any community event we attended, including one magical night when she unleashed some shock-and-awe dance moves at SXSW.

Obviously the universe was telling us something—we just had to have her in the flock.  As our new Communications Intern, she’ll be supporting us on PR and social activities for the agency and clients alike. Here, Sarah will hone her craft by writing hot-off-the-press releases, clickworthy tweets and everything in between. Lucky us.

Welcome, Sarah! We can’t wait to see what shenanigans we get into together—just don’t forget to bring that camera.
