Thanks to the dedication and VOICES of so many Houstonians battling for equality, the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance passed this week! This much-needed ordinance extends protection to ALL Houstonians in housing and employment. Why stop here, though? Call your council person and tell them THANK YOU for supporting the measure. Keep it up, Houston!

2. Google’s Self-Driving Car

Google self-driving car or Little Tykes car? YOU DECIDE. Joking aside, Google’s self-driving car prototype is pretty flocking AWESOME. Just imagine a future where you order up a car on your smartphone and it arrives with NO DRIVER. Lyft, Uber — pay attention!

3. Ponies Doing Musicals

The great thing about the Internet is even though something may have been posted online years ago, when you rediscover it, it is still JUST AS FLOCKING AWESOME. This is a video of giant puppet ponies reenacting two of the best musicals ever. Defying Gravity, bb. In all your pony greatness.

A HUGE shout out to Houston Zoo for making the Top 10 Zoo list in USA TODAY. We already knew you were amazing, but now the whole country knows!

6. Free Press Summer Fest

IT IS HERE, Houston! Free Press Summer Fest is rolling into town this weekend and (come rain or shine) many of the Black Sheep will be out in full force to ROCK OUT. Pro-tip: Don’t wear a jean diaper.
