We Flocking Love This! is a series where we share our favorite things of the week—websites, videos, viral trends, Houston happenings or people we meet. If we LOVE it, you’ll hear about it. FLOCK yeah!

1. Houston: The City With No Limits

We already knew Houston has no limits — heck, we’ve been saying that for years! And that is why we are super pumped for the new city branding campaign from the Greater Houston Partnership. Houston is art, culture, business, diversity, creativity and SO MUCH MORE.

2. Platahontas

We revel in the weird and quirky here at Black Sheep (hence the name, and well, EVERYTHING) so when we caught wind of a shadow-puppet show featuring a platypus opening up in Houston — we knew we HAD to check it out. The show looks like a heck of a lot of fun, and it all goes down TONIGHT at 7 p.m. at the Beta Theater.

3. The El on White Oak

Any time The Heights gets a new restaurant, we are ON IT. But we are extra excited for The El open up because, honestly, can you ever have too much Tex-Mex? The new joint will also be within minutes of our office, making for some very happy (and queso-crazed) Black Sheep.

4. Houston footage from 1940s to 1960s

To truly see that Houston is the “city with no limits” we think you should take a look back at how this great city rose to the top. We were mesmerized by these old videos of Houston — from the early Astrodome to growing skyscrapers, Houston has come a long way!

5. FPSF make-up show!

Didn’t get out to Free Press Summer Fest this year? NOT TO WORRY. The official make-up show is tonight at 8 p.m at Fitzgerald’s featuring The Tontons. An RSVP is required and there are no guaranteed seats, so you better get there early!

And that’s what we flocking love! What did we miss? Let us know in the comments below.
